What happens in Greenland doesn’t stay in Greenland

January 22, 2019

A new study from the National Academy of Sciences finds that the changing climate is causing Greenland’s massive ice sheets to melt much faster than previously thought. This shocking reality could mean dire implications for coastal and low-lying cities worldwide.

Staggeringly, just 100 companies cause over 70 percent of global emissions that fuel the Greenland melt. Yes, you read that right! Who tops that list? ExxonMobil, Shell, BP and Chevron — dirty “leaders” in the fossil fuel industry that are funding political campaigns nationwide.

These companies are betting that the politicians they back will advance their agenda and protect their profits. This isn’t just about Republicans. They’re hoping the Democrats they fund will sit on their hands and fail to lead. That’s why pushing electeds to sign the No Fossil Fuel Money pledge is central to our advocacy work at Climate Hawks Vote — and we can move the ball forward with your help.
